Pet Help: UPDATE!

The Sathers have our pets and will take WONDERFUL care of them!  They insisted that it would bring them much needed joy.  Thank you dear friends.

Our dear friend, who had planned to watch our pets while we were in India, lost her father today.  We grieve with her on this unexpected loss and cling to our Heavenly Father who loves us dearly and desires to hear our cries and emotions.  Pray for the Sather family today!   We love you all!

Obviously, I am looking for someone to watch our two bunnies and one Beta fish.  The bunnies are in separate cages but we stack the cages on top of each other.  If you are able to help us with this need, please let me know!

No, I definitely INSIST that you Connecticut friends refrain from this plea!  :)

Black Bean Soup: UPDATE!

A couple of you have asked about Paul; thank you for caring for him for God's glory!  A friend from King of Kings Church, Julie E. made Paul some homemade Black Bean Soup and fresh bread!  YUM!  I am anxious to hear about their meeting!

I called to check in on him and was so disappointed to hear that he was worse than ever!  I told him I would keep praying for healing and that someone would be delivering him soup.  He was so surprised!  The sweet thing is; he asked several times if I would please call him again.  SO, maybe even more than healing he needs to know that someone cares about him and is willing to take time to show it!

"Good thing I have this cart to lean on or I might just fall on the ground!"

Distracted from the green bean selection in front of me, I looked around and yep, he was talking to me!  Just that morning my devotion was on laying my list aside and listening for Him to guide, so I leaned in and asked more.  We talked for about 8 minutes there in the grocery aisle.  He a Veteran, Catholic, father of 5, widower, landscaper, looking to find a can of Black Bean soup to no avail.  He was writhing in pain from many hard years of back-breaking labor and just wanted the doctor's office to call and SOON!

"Well, Paul let's pray in Jesus' name that they will call on Monday!" and that is what I did right then.

A gentle man, out for a few groceries and company we talked more and I learned that if everyone ate soup twice a week, had someone to give a scalp and neck message the world would be much nicer.  "But oh, if someone would just carry Black Bean soup!"

I've never cooked Black Bean soup before in my life and frankly don't have time was what the worldly part of me said but yet, "Paul, I am going to make you some soup!  I need to find a pen and get your number, I am bringing you soup!"

Friends, anyone out there have a good recipe and want to help me out with this before I leave on Thursday?  AND anyone tickled to treat him to a gift card for a scalp, neck and maybe back massage?  Wouldn't that be a fun blessing?

With a sweet twinkle in his eye, "I knew you were a Christian!  Trying to earn some good works!"  Seriously folks, I need to get back to him and finish the work God has begun... by sharing Ephesians 2: 8-9; For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast.

Pray for Paul tonight, that his back would be miraculously healed!  I will tell him you did so!
