Squeaky Shoes

You have probably seen those kids shoes that light up when they walk. Well, China has a slightly annoying variation of those called squeaky shoes. As you can probably guess, they let out a high-pitched little squeak with EVERY single step. I must admit, they have been a blessing because L wanted her mother to carry her everywhere we went for the first couple days. She seemed to like the squeaky shoes in the store so we thought they might give her a little motivation to walk, and did they ever. Now she likes walking herself and will even go for a little walk when it’s just her and dad. So I coming around to the squeaky shoes a little bit, but don’t be surprised if they mysteriously disappear somewhere between China and home.

  1. Initially I thought, "Squeaky shoes - annoying" then I thought, "Squeaky shoes - ahh, smart, b/c you can tell where your child is!" I think getting her motivated to walk is a good idea - but squeaky shoes? Who thinks of these things?

    Have FUN!

  2. Hey guys!

    Those shoes are hilarious!!!

Looks like you've been traveling a lot and having a good time bonding with L. She is just too cute...thanks for posting all the pics and videos!

Oh, you better not lose those shoes on your way home or else you might have one unhappy girl! On the other hand though, if you bring them home, all your girls may want a pair! Hahaha:)

    Keeping you in my prayers,

    Jenna

  3. Hey Jen and Jon,
We have had fun seeing all of your great adventures and Journey in China as you have been able to adopt L. She sure is a cute, cute, cute girl and seems to fit in well with the both of you (at least it sounds like she's becoming very attached to both of you). We very excited for you and your family and our prayers are always with you. Have fun the next week or so and hopefully everything goes well as you bring L home. I'm sure the girls will be excited to see their new sister and you and Jon too. Take care! Jerry and Tricia Butler
